Walt Disney where are you? Disney, who was one of the most creative minds on the planet, was a powerful force in the world of creativity. He was an American film producer, director, screenwriter, animator, entrepreneur, entertainer, international icon, voice actor and philanthropist. Disney is famous for his influence in the field of entertainment during the 20th century. As the co-founder (with his brother Roy O. Disney) of Walt Disney Productions, Disney became one of the best-known motion picture producers in the world. The corporation he co-founded, now known as The Walt Disney Company, today, has annual revenues of approximately USD $35 billion.
In a world filed with immense and complex problems, creativity is what is needed most. If you are looking for a career in business, creativity is a skill that you must develop to improve your marketability.
Jacob Suhr Thompson says that “there is an abundance of everything except great ideas. With rising living standards, there will never be a shortage of anything except good ideas and talent. Everything can be mass produced so that it is cheap and plentiful. What will be in demand are good ideas - and people who are able to think creatively and innovatively, and who can implement good ideas. The good idea can really get a company moving. An example is the large investment funds that just buy existing companies instead of leading them into new activities. It is a sign that there is a lack of new ideas. In CIFS's view, this means that there is still not enough Creative Man logic on the market, and therefore companies lack the systems and tools to carry out good ideas.”
So how do you develop your creativity? One suggestion is to first start thinking of yourself as a creative person, and give yourself permission to think creative thoughts. By believing you are creative, this allows your subconscious mind to offer up creative ideas that can be applied to different situations of your life. Looking to do the things you normally do in the same old way differently, this will give you the opportunity to develop your creative thinking abilities. Rather than driving the regular route to work, try different routes. When shopping, try going to different stores at their bricks and mortar location or online. By exposing yourself to different experiences in your day to day routine, you give yourself the opportunity to tap your creative juices.
We have all made the comment about a successful invention in the marketplace, the idea of which we also thought about many years ago, but did nothing about. So to prevent that from happening to you, make time to write down your creative ideas and take action on them. The world is waiting for you.
