  • As an Xbox Platform Business Planner, you will work with trusted partners in Data Sciences, Product Engineering, Business Planning Studios and Game Pass, Finance, Marketing and Sales to drive critical product and marketing decisions for Xbox endpoints. We are hiring for multiple Xbox Platform Business Planners.

    This role requires strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and data driven problem solving. Your insights and recommendations will be based on deep customer understanding, market research, trend analyses, quantitative models, competitive analysis, and industry benchmarks. Your insights will help inform our overall Xbox endpoints business plans, products, and strategies.

    Responsibilities

    Business Model Development:

    • Lead and define a channel strategy in partnership with other internal teams, forecasting demand across screens and experiences.

    • Develop growth strategies for Xbox Endpoints with multiple services while collaborating with others.

    • Support development of Platform economic models across key endpoint categories.

    • Conduct competitive benchmarking and market analysis to identify opportunities building upon an audience strategy.

    • Deliver insights for short and long-term business roadmaps

    • Lead partnerships with customer research and use research to drive business decisions to drive the Xbox Endpoint Long Range Planning.

    • Drive thought leadership around competition and industry trends (e.g. category monitoring/insights for specific form factor and/or experiences)

    • Evaluate market conditions and insights to determine offer strategy and pricing.

    • Assess the impact of business decisions on revenue and targets.

    • Drive promotion strategy and performance.

    • Lead projects or programs that synthesize data (e.g., pricing research, economic analysis) to inform business decisions and drive results.

    • Use business insights and data analysis to inform strategic decision-making and communicate results in a synthesized manner.

    Business Model Execution:

    • Serve as a resource accountable for successful cross-organization execution for a plan (e.g., operationalizing of price), driving a launch through program management. Ensuring the actual plan is executed and aligned with the overall strategy.

    • Create project plans with timelines and milestones to implement strategy into business plans. Identifying key stakeholders and implementing their feedback and input.

    • Provide clear requirements of business models to help other teams drive it.

    Business Results:

    • Serve as a key player of the business plan and the overall definition, manage it as a business owner, incorporating the business drivers into the plan (e.g., forecast, budget). Contributing to results from Finance and others.

    • Identify key performance indicators and metrics for planning and forecasting. Driving understanding of what is required to achieve the plan (e.g., resources, features, content).

    • Collaborate with a variety of groups through ongoing reviews of performance (e.g., weekly, monthly).

    Acquisition, Retention, and Engagement:

    • Serve as the owner of the Monthly Active Endpoints, developing a forecasting model of active screens and engagement opportunity and risk. Understanding how external factors impact behavior.

    • Size the current business opportunity across endpoints and seek out new opportunities to help guide the improvement of acquisition, retention, and engagement strategy.

    • Provide guidance to the team by defining customer segmentation, acquisition cost, churn, customer lifetime value, and determining the optimal model for multiple outcomes (e.g., programs, promotions, pricing, stock-keeping units [SKUs]) to drive user growth and behavior.

    • Proactively provide proposed plans for execution. acquisition, retention.

    • Drive monthly Rhythm of the Business initiatives to better understand our Active Endpoints and users.

    Qualifications

    Required/Minimum Qualifications

    • 5+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience

    • OR equivalent experience.

    • 4+ years experience in data analytics, including driving key insights to inform planning and execution and creation of Business Models.

    • 3+ years experience partnering with engineering on data management

    • 3+ years experience orchestrating and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver recommendations

    • 3+ years experience utilizing Excel and PowerPoint to tell complex data driven stories

    Additional or Preferred Qualifications

    • 8+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field

    • OR 6+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field

    • OR equivalent experience.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to manage ambiguity

    • Experience interfacing with executive and/or c-level stakeholders

    Business Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $103,800 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,700 - $219,200 per year.
