    The Role

    The selected candidate will be required to perform arrival condition, in-process and final product inspections as well as inspect and witness testing operations on various piping systems and mechanical components. Also responsible for ensuring that all requirements of drawings and procedures are met for specific processes (shipboard, shop, and warehouse). Assist with Quality Improvement Activities.

    Selected candidate will inspect various piping systems and mechanical components on Naval Aircraft Carriers and Submarines. Applicant will climb tall ladders, crawl tanks/bilges in confined spaces, inspect from Aerial Lifts, inspect areas extending over shoulders and working in adverse environment conditions for long periods of time.

    Candidate should be detailed oriented, possess basic computer skills, able to read associated drawings, Inspection Reports, test addendums and work packages. Candidate will assist and take part in Quality Improvement Activities.

    Must Have

    Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and legally eligible to work in the U.S.

    Candidates must be able to

    • Climb ladders and work at extreme heights.

    • Work in small, tight, or confined spaces.

    • Kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb on a daily basis.

    • Lift heavy objects weighing 40 lbs. or more

    • Work while repeatedly reaching overhead.

    • Work indoors or outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.

    • Work in areas with radiation.

    • Take and pass a respirator fit test.

    • Work assigned shift as production needs.

    • Take and pass a Physical Agility Test.

    Nice to Have

    It would be nice for the candidates to have a mechanical or piping installation background, a clear understanding of distributive systems and how they operate on naval surface ships and submarines. Candidate should be able to navigate and read drawings, and procedures. Candidate should demonstrate a great work ethic, be able to perform well independently or as a team. Candidate should be comfortable/competent with recording detailed information in a constantly evolving work environment. Preferred candidate should have experience in the quality or inspection and testing fields. Prior Military experience or leadership experience would be a plus. Preferred candidate would have a current security clearance or able to obtain one.
