    Office Aide - University Art Museum

    DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:
    • Please provide information about the goals/services that your area provides: The University of Wyoming Art Museum presents and collects world-class art and objects by regional, national and international artists, and art from the American West. As an academic museum and a leader in the arts, the University Art Museum concentrates on expanding programs that engage students and visitors in discussions that broaden an understanding of diverse perspectives, viewpoints, and cultures. Through the Museum as Classroom approach, the University Wyoming Art Museum places art at the center of learning for all ages, supports the academic mission of the University, assists in preparing our future workforce with essential skills, and enhances the cultural life of Wyoming's citizens and visitors.
    • What type of clients are served in your department (education majors, all students, faculty, staff)? UW Staff, Faculty, Students, Laramie Community, State schools k-12. We also provide the teaching gallery to the faculty for research, teaching support and exhibition space to UW students and faculty.
    • Does your department/area provide community services with the goal to improve the quality of life for community residents or to solve a particular problem related to those residents' needs? Will assist in making the collection accessible to all communities through online database. The University Art Museum is free and open to the public. We also provide scholarships to participants who want to attend summer camps but cannot afford the fee. Free family workshops such as March Art Month, Family Saturdays, Free Happy Holidays event for the Laramie Community, Visiting Artist talks and workshops.
    Job location: Centennial Complex

    Pay rate or range: $12.00

    JOB PURPOSE:

    Assist University Art Museum Administrative team with data entry, filing, front desk coverage, assist marketing coordinator with event submissions, website updates and other projects as assigned.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Posting record of payments, assist in maintaining fiscal year filing system, provide support to Visitor Services for front desk coverage, support marketing coordinator with projects, calendar event submissions and other duties as assigned.

    REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

    This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    Education
    High School Diploma or Equivalent. Business, Marketing, Business Administration majors are encouraged to apply. All majors welcome.



    Experience
    Microsoft office tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Creative Cloud, Zoom and Skype for business preferred


    Other requirements: Must be eligible, have received and accepted work study award through Student Financial Aid for the applicable semester and/or academic year.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Background in business or marketing

    EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS APPLICABLE TO CAREERS:

    Gaining business field experience working in the administration of an institutional art museum learning business, marketing and administrative practices.
