As part of the Associate Lab Directorate of Weapons Production (ALDWP) and the Chief Operations Office (COO), your contributions will directly influence operational success across Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).

    The Operations Integration Center (OIC) Group Office is seeking motivated candidates to fill several Production Control Specialist positions, in support of OIC's mission to integrate and coordinate activities across product lines and services. These roles are critical in enabling OIC's priorities and driving the efficient utilization of resources.

    As the Work Execution Scheduler (PCS-4), the selected candidates will work with cross-functional teams, to capture and communicate process activities and resource requirements, in development and maintenance of an Integrated Field Execution Schedule (I-FES). Additionally, they will:

    • Serve as the scheduling point-of-contact for assigned critical product lines.

    • Provide acute support to project managers, product groups, and master schedulers.

    • Work with Industrial Engineers on schedule development, data analysis, and process improvement projects.

    • Utilize production and project planning software to track and status plan execution.

    • Analyze schedules, review delays, and propose schedule recovery options.

    • Takes direct responsibility for inter-project relationships, schedule logic development, and schedule tracking, to maintain schedule accuracy and integrity.

    • Perform milestone tracking, variance analysis, and risk management.

    • Develop metrics, analyze schedules, review delays, propose schedule recovery plans, and be able to present those to stakeholders and clients of varying levels.

    • Provide expert-level guidance and training to less experienced schedulers.

    What You Need

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    Scheduling

    Demonstrated expert-level knowledge of scheduling processes, practices, and software systems to include Primavera P6. Possess advanced proficiency in schedule development, control, analysis, and optimization. Capable of building and managing resource-loaded and logic-tied schedules, for the organization and authorization of work.

    Time Management

    Exhibit the ability to work independently, organize, prioritize, and follow through to completion on multiple tasks, under strict deadlines and changing priorities. Demonstrated success working on multiple projects, with frequent interruptions, varying priorities, and deadlines, while maintaining excellent quality of daily work.

    Communication

    Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Able to interact effectively with stakeholders of all levels.

    Computing/Business Systems and Software

    Capable of effectively employing all LANL standard business systems, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.

    Organizational Skills

    Demonstrate high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, and problem solving skills. Proven ability to multi-task and adjust to the workings of a dynamic environment.

    Customer Service

    Display exceptional customer service skills and the ability to provide support and guidance to others, in sometimes stressful situations.

    Clearance

    Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance.

    Education and Experience:

    Position requires 12 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. At this level, postgraduate coursework may be expected.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Active DOE Q Clearance and active participant in the Human Reliability Program (HRP).

    • ALDWP and TA-55 (PF4) experience.

    • Knowledge of regulatory and laboratory requirements.

    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certified.

    • Intermediate to advance skills in Oracle Business Systems and Production Scheduling.

    • MicroStrategy, Aurora, and/or Asset Suite software proficiency is a plus.

    Work Environment:

    Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

    Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

    Additional Details

    Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 (~~~) . Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.

    Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

    *Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 (~~~) for additional information.

    HRP: This position is subject to the requirements of the DOE Human Reliability Program as specified in 10 Code of Federal Regulation, Part 712, §712.11. These requirements include on going drug and alcohol testing, as well as periodic medical and psychological evaluations.

    New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.

    Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.

    Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
