Job Title: GMAW Welder

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced GMAW Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in welding carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel, and will perform welding and grinding duties as required. The candidate will be required to weld based on supplied blueprints and work either independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform GMAW welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel.

• Perform welding and grinding duties as required.

• Weld based on supplied blueprints.

• Work independently or as a team member.

• Work from complex drawings.

• Ensure all parts are prefabricated correctly to meet customer specifications.

• Follow all Occupational Health & Safety Regulations, Company Policies, and Procedures.

• Perform other duties as defined and assigned by the department supervisor or lead hand.

• Comply and perform all duties with the organizational set of standards.

• Strive for maximum production efficiency and attention to detail.

• Document and complete Quality reports.

• Maintain a clean and organized working area.

• Ensure adequate clean-up and inspection of all weldments and fabricated parts upon completion of assigned work.

Essential Skills

• 3-5 years of MIG (GMAW) welding experience.

• 3-5 years of experience reading welding blueprints.

• 2-4 years of experience in a custom welding environment.

• Welding tickets (CWB/AWS/TSSA) are considered an asset.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• TIG (GTAW) welding experience is considered an asset.

• Fabrication, production, fitting, structure, and assembly skills.

• Sub Arc welding experience is considered an asset.

• Red Seal Certification is considered an asset.

Work Environment

Our client is a Canadian-owned and operated metal manufacturing company that excels in prototyping and custom projects. Utilizing the latest cutting-edge technology, we offer clients machining, fabricating, welding, and design support. This facility is climate-controlled, and operates on a day and afternoon shift. Day shift runs from 6:30am to 3:00pm Monday-Friday, and the afternoon shift runs from 4:00pm to 2:30am Monday-Thursday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cambridge, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Cambridge,ON.
