    Wastewater Technician - Litchfield, MN

    Job Summary:

    As a Wastewater Treatment Technician, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining wastewater treatment systems to ensure the safe and efficient treatment of wastewater.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • System Operation:

    • Operate and monitor wastewater treatment equipment, including pumps, filters, and chemical feeders.

    • Adjust and control process variables such as flow rates, chemical dosages, and equipment settings to maintain optimal performance.

    • Monitoring and Testing:

    • Perform routine tests on wastewater samples to monitor parameters.

    • Record and analyze test results to ensure compliance.

    • Maintenance and Repairs:

    • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on treatment equipment and machinery.

    • Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions and failures promptly to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.

    • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of operational data, maintenance activities, and compliance reports.

    • Prepare and submit reports on system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities to the Maintenance Manager.

    • Safety and Compliance:

    • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

    • Emergency Response:

    • Respond to emergency situations, such as equipment failures or contamination incidents, and implement corrective actions as needed.

    • Training and Development:

    • Participate in ongoing training programs to stay current with industry standards, technological advancements, and regulatory changes.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or associate degree in a technical field is preferred.

    • Experience: Previous experience in wastewater treatment/maintenance or a related field is advantageous. On-the-job training will be provided.

    • Skills:

    • Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes and equipment.

    • Proficiency in operating and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment.

    • Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to treatment processes.

    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

    • Effective communication skills and attention to detail.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to [50] pounds.

    • Capability to work in various environmental conditions, including confined spaces and outdoor settings.

    • Good manual dexterity and vision to operate equipment and perform tests.

    Working Conditions:

    • Full-time position with weekend and on-call duties.

    • Work may involve exposure to hazardous materials and chemicals, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
