    Job Summary:

    The Vice President of Petroleum sales is responsible for oversight for the entire North American Petroleum territory by developing and implementing strategies and objectives that drive sales growth and profitability through channel partners and national petroleum chains. You will lead a group of ambitious sales managers who are responsible for leveraging our products, services, and technology to drive market/account specific actions and growth in their respective areas. You will be responsible for the successful onboarding of our new agency partners to quickly establish speed to revenue. You will identify and understand customer, market and industry trends and opportunities, and you will work closely with members of the leadership team and broader organization to help prioritize and focus on the right opportunities. Your success will result in an agile team that can quickly adapt to changing environments, a strong bench of future sales leaders and a Petroleum agent/distribution sales network that can effectively impact the channel to reach our long-term goals.

    How you will contribute:

    Lead the execution of go-to-market sales strategies for North America, while ensuring alignment with the broader organization, to increase our market share and profitability. Percentage of time: 30%

    You will remove roadblocks, set up new policies and processes, and help guide the organization on products and tools required to create and nurture this new channel. Percentage of time: 20% ( for the first 12 mths)

    Drive accountability with the regional sales team, independent sales network and supporting teams through setting clear expectations and goals. Percentage of time: 40%

    Use data and customer feedback to work through channel conflict, to make decisions, and to define the important sales priorities. Percentage of time: 5%

    Be in the Gemba, meeting with the independent sales network, distributors, contractors, specifiers and end-users to experience what is happening throughout the Petroleum ecosystem and to communicate feedback that drives understanding of the customer and market needs throughout the organization.

    Work closely with Acuity's Sales Effectiveness team to enable productivity within the sales process and ensure alignment within sales systems, reporting, agent commission strategies, marketing plans and business reporting.

    Develop bench strength, talent and become the sales team everybody wants to join. Percentage of time: 5%

    Qualified Applicants will have:

    10 years of experience in the lighting/electrical or similar industry

    Successful track record of being a charismatic leader, team player and motivator with excellent written, verbal and presentation and communication skills.

    Passion for listening and learning, developing leaders, embracing challenges, solving problems, and working through difficult situations.

    Challenge status quo with a bias toward action. Thoroughly analyze problems, making decisions that are always well­ supported with data.

    Successful track record of translating customer and business needs into Acuity Brands policies, business systems and processes

    The range for this position is $143,600.00 to $322,700.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant's experience and geographic location.
