Role Summary/Purpose:
The VP, H&W Strategic Programs is a highly visible role that will lead complex initiatives with multiple workstreams and large cross-functional teams providing thought leadership and influencing the direction of the program to deliver scalable, sustainable and commercially viable solutions. The initial focus of the role will be the scoping, prioritizing, development, implementation and commercialization of the Multisource Financing Solutions (a critical capability for H&W to leverage 3rd party lenders to approve more consumers beyond the Synchrony credit risk tolerance) and Integration Modernization (modernizing the integration ecosystem through foundational technology builds that strategically partner with Independent Software Vendors (ISV), Practice Management Systems and other 3rd parties that mutually serve our provider network). The role requires strong program management experience with expert knowledge of implementation methodologies, financial services/payments industry business acumen, coupled with cross functional team building, influencing, communication and organization skills. The role will partner with multiple cross-functional delivery partners to drive the successful completion of key programs and integrations that drive growth for the H&W platform.

Essential Responsibilities:
Lead complex, multi-functional programs, influencing the overall direction in support of the H&W business strategy
Identifies new opportunities to drive growth, integration and automation
Partnering with H&W and SYF leadership, fostering the synergies that accelerate and maximize delivery results
Drive creation and execution of realistic, integrated, multi-phased program plans and multi-year roadmaps that deliver incremental business value
Establish program management best practices and rigor for accountability and successful execution acceleration
Lead / execute day-to-day program delivery activities and forums, influencing, organizing and holding accountable cross-functional teams
Responsible for cross-functional leadership, identifying and holding individual workstream owners accountable and on task
Employ the appropriate implementation methodology warranted by the program specifics, enforcing program management methodology best practices
Responsible for KPIs, governance, resource alignment and program finances (cost/benefits)
Partner with the H&W data strategy team, analytics team and partner integrations team to leverage data for measurement and as a critical input for sequencing development, implementation and measuring outcomes.
Keep program teams, sponsors, champions, H&W leadership and cross-functional partners engaged and apprised of program status/health, risks/issues, dependencies
When needed, design and lead cross-functional workouts and Program Increment events for the program teams to further the goals of the initiatives and increase execution success
Perform other duties and/or special programs as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years' experience in Financial Services/Payments Industry OR in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED and 12+ years' experience in Financial Services/Payments Industry
4+ years demonstrated program management experience leading cross-functional program teams from initiation through to successful implementation of complex solutions, including system integrations, conversions and automation
Significant knowledge and experience with financing products, including revolving and loans
Knowledge of implementation methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Hybrid)
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, JIRA, Confluence
Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time, as required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills: business writing, developing pitches tailored to the audience, delivering presentations and leading meetings
Excellent management, organizational and prioritization skills
Collaborative skill set with demonstrated ability to influence outcomes in a cross-functional, matrixed organization
Strong financial/analytical skills
Desired Characteristics:
Advanced degree/MBA preferred
Ability to provide strategic leadership and vision across a developing product and technology landscape
Results driven, strategic, conceptual, and innovative thinker
Strong business acumen, able to bridge business objective with technology solutions; background in IT program management/development strongly preferred
Experience leading product management/development initiatives preferred
Independent, clear thinker who can seek out and identify key data themes and distill the findings into actionable strategies, tactics, and solutions
Demonstrated ability to engage and work effectively with partners to gain alignment and achieve key deliverables
Significant knowledge and experience with healthcare industries
Familiarity with the Synchrony processes, systems and organization
Able to build and maintain strong relationships at multiple levels of the organization
Strong communicator that can summarize complex problems and programs into clear and succinct messages
Strategic thinker, innovative problem solver, self-starter and team player
High energy, self-driven
SAFe Agilist/LPM Certification
Lean, Facilitation, Workout, Program Increment experience
Grade/Level: 12
The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
