    Summary

    • Assists with planning, coordinating, recruiting, and administering Hospice volunteer programs and services.

    Responsibilities

    • Receives requests for services.

    • Schedules and maintains calendar of volunteer services delivered.

    • Reviews assignments as appropriate with nurse manager and staff.

    • Participates with the interdisciplinary team (IDT), nurse manager, and primary nurse in coordinating volunteer services.

    • Serves as a liaison among hospice clients, families, volunteers, and the hospice interdisciplinary team.

    • Attends hospice department team meetings regularly to assess client needs and provides feedback to hospice IDT and volunteers.

    • Links bereavement volunteers with the surviving family members for bereavement support.

    • Assists with the recruitment, orientation, and training of all volunteers.

    • Maintains records of hospice volunteer hours and visits made. Maintains monthly and annual statistical reports of volunteer activity.

    • Provides supervision, evaluation, and support for all volunteers.

    • Participates in the organization and planning of community events related to the hospice department.

    Credentials

    Education or Equivalent Experience

    • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)

    • Equivalent Experience:-1+ years Hospice Volunteer experience-1+ years Supervisory experience (preferred)
