About the Job:

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in triaging incoming patients

• Monitor and provide care for critical and fractious patients

• Administer medications and assist with treatments

• Assist in diagnostic tests and emergency procedures

• Ensure patient comfort and wellbeing

• Provide support to veterinary professionals during exams and procedures

• Communicate effectively with pet owners and answer questions about care

• Maintain and organize medical equipment and supplies

• Accurately document patient care in electronic records

• Engage in ongoing education and training to expand skills

Compensation Range:

• Veterinary Assistant

  $21.00-$31.00 per hour

  
  

Work Schedule:

• Various shifts available: days, swings, and overnights

• Full-Time positions, 4/10 schedule

• $5 shift differential for overnight shifts

Basic Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma

• 3+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, client invoices, estimates, and other position-related tasks

• Maintain California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire or transfer (waived if a valid CA-RVT license is held)

• CA-RVT license preferred but not required
