    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Vascular and General Ultrasound Technologist to join our medical team. As Vascular and Ultrasound Technologist you will be responsible for performing non-invasive procedures to assist in the diagnostic and treatment of patients. This individual is responsible for the operation of the diagnostic ultrasound equipment for the performance of all vascular and general ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision.

    • Identifies each patient, reviews each patient’s chart and previous examinations for consistency and records pertinent data on requisition at all times.
    • Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images and ensures proper film identification on all images.
    • Maintains adequate inventory of all required supplies.
    • Performs each exam with technical accuracy, presents completed examination to the assigned interpreting vascular surgeon or radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure when appropriate.
    • Demonstrates ability to organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first and by implementing the physician’s orders.
    • Ensures that the vascular and general ultrasound examinations are performed using proper universal precaution techniques to ensure safety for both the patient and technologist.
    • Performs all vascular and general ultrasound examinations using accepted and established techniques, standards and procedures.
    • Assists in quality assurance programs as requested to enhance job knowledge and understanding.
    • Schedules inpatient examinations to facilitate outpatient scheduled examinations.
    • Maintains daily patient procedure log documenting correct and accurate patient information to ensure the quality of patient care.

    • College Graduate, Ultrasound School graduate or successful completion of an in-house vascular ultrasound training program.
    • Must be certified by ARDMS as an RVT. RDMS certification is not required but is preferred. 
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Registered Vascular Technologist. Minimum 1 year experience as a General Ultrasound Technologist. 
    • Ability to type 45 words per minute, computer literate, ability to follow verbal and written communication.
