Utility Locate Technician (Earth View)

Earth View LLC is looking for a Utility Locate Technician to join our team. The Utility Locate Technician is responsible for pinpointing the precise location of underground utilities, marking their locations, completing the associated paperwork, and documenting the job site with pictures or reports. Utility Locators work from a company vehicle and are required to work outdoors in all types of weather.

Essential Functions

Operate various equipment, including ground-penetrating radar (GPR) to locate and mark underground utilities within prescribed accuracy limits.

• Read and interpret utility plans/prints to identify the type and size of underground utilities.
• Operate company vehicle in a safe manner and maintain professional appearance.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with supervisor, coworkers, and utility representatives.
• Provide accurate documentation related to locates completed.
• Complete required daily reports on company-issued iPad.
• This position requires travel, occasional overtime, and weekend shifts.

• Ability to work with limited supervision to complete assigned tasks.

• Ability to read constructions plans and identify utility markers.

Education, Experience, Licenses, & Certifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of utility locating experience; proficiency with GPR preferred.
• Valid Class E Florida Driver License with safe driving record required.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
