User Experience Designer II

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a User Experience Designer II in Hanover, Maryland. This role is centered around designing and delivering high-quality, client-centered, consistent, and usable interfaces in line with both large and small scale online projects. The industry focus is on financial, investment, and insurance applications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with business analysts, business sponsors, project managers, and IT teams to understand and translate business requirements.

• Apply user-centered design techniques to create the architecture and design of user interfaces.

• Regularly participate in design review sessions with project teams, acquiring consensus and getting approvals on designs and documentation.

• Execute business acceptance test cases and testing.

• Work within project timelines, budgets, and scope constraints to ensure that usability deliverables are met.

• Contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of efficient and effective usability methodology/process documentation, workflow, ROI metrics, and design standards.

• Stay current with industry trends and best practices to continuously develop your skills.

• Advocate for the principles of user experience and user-centered design within the organization.

• Utilize excellent communication and presentation skills to articulate ideas effectively.

• Use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop with proficiency.

• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in project teams.

• Balance multiple tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining a strong detail orientation and a passion for consistency. Requirements - Proficiency in User Experience (UX) design principles and methodologies

• Profound knowledge and application skills in HTML and CSS for web app development

• Extensive experience using design tools like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration

• Demonstrated ability to perform ad hoc financial tasks and understand budget processes

• Ability to conduct and document comprehensive research for design and business requirements

• Proficiency in creating and delivering presentations to stakeholders

• Experience in design review and quality assurance processes

• Knowledge of insurance industry is a plus

• Ability to execute tasks efficiently following best practices

• Experience in creating deliverables such as Business Requirement Documents

• Track record in metric reporting and data analysis
