    About the role

    As a CBRE Union Helper, you will perform non-technical general building maintenance, light custodial, and minor repair duties.

    This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. We are seeking a motivated individual with strong carpentry skills to join our team and contribute to the upkeep and improvement of our facilities.

    What you'll do:

    -Perform general labor work including loading, unloading, and moving materials.

    -Utilize carpentry skills to construct, repair, and maintain structures, furniture, and fixtures.

    -Maintain lighting systems throughout the facility, cleaning fixtures and replacing bulbs and lamps.

    -Conduct grounds maintenance tasks such as raking, sweeping, leaf blowing, or snow removal.

    -Patrol grounds, communal areas, and parking facilities; identify and report maintenance hazards.

    -Run errands to support projects and assist with various maintenance tasks.

    -Execute housekeeping functions to maintain the professional appearance of the property and communal areas.

    -Paint, patch drywall, and perform carpentry repairs, including woodworking and cabinetry tasks.

    -Facilitate office access and office moves by moving crates, assembling furniture, and installing office fixtures.

    -Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.

    -Prepare meetings and conference rooms, arranging tables, chairs, and ensuring proper setup.

    -Set up and dismantle audio and visual equipment, flip charts, and TVs within conference rooms.

    -Follow established procedures for the performance of repetitive tasks or job activities.

    Qualifications

    -High School Diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year college program or technical school.

    -Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

    -Ability to develop skills to perform basic activities in own job.

    -Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate.

    -Familiarity with Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

    -Organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.

    -Simple math skills. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.

    The pay range for this position is subject to an applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    The negotiated rate for the Union Maintenance Helper position is $80,912 annually or $38.90 per hour.

    Please refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement regarding pay scale.
