Job Title:Transplant Financial Coordinator (Remote)
Entity: HUP
Department: Kidney Transplant
Location: Remote, but may need to come on site as needed: Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, 3400 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, Pa
Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm

Strong foundation and knowledge of medical insurance benefits (understanding copays, deductibles, out of pocket expenses, provider networks, etc.)
Baseline understanding of Revenue Cycle Management for both professional and hospital claims.
Understanding of insurance authorizations and insurance payor portals.
Understanding of the phases of transplant care a plus, but not required.
Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with patients, their families, insurance companies, the transplant multidisciplinary team, and other teams within UPHS.
Ability to think critically and wholistically to help patients and the transplant multidisciplinary team navigate complex insurance networks, policies, and potential barriers to transplant care.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with multiple teams, both virtually and in person.
H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
4+ years of experience in a medical setting either hospital based or large physician practice (required)
2 years of Hospital and Physician billing and strong medical insurance knowledge (required)
1+ years Transplant Financial Coordination or Pre-certification experience (preferred)
