As a Traffic Engineering Technician, your main role will be to conduct field surveys and observations for our clients on site. You will be responsible for setting up, monitoring, and taking down a variety of equipment that is used for the collection of traffic data. This data will then be utilized in traffic engineering studies. Office duties associated with the tabulation of the data collection with AutoCAD or MicroStation will also be part of your responsibilities. Your services will include, but not limited to, Parking Inventory Documentation, speed surveys, parking occupancy/utilization surveys, and traffic/pedestrian/bicycle counts.

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 9 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Rosemont, Illinois.

Work Environment

This role provides an opportunity for growth and increased responsibility over time. Initially, you will work anywhere from 20-30 hours per week as you get trained and up to speed. However, this opportunity can turn into a full 40 hour position. Your schedule might vary, with some days being 10 hour work days and others being two hours. You should be comfortable with this type of schedule. 60% of your time will be on site conducting and gathering data, and 40% in the office working with traffic data software and assembling the data for the engineers to complete their traffic models and engineering. If you are proficient in AutoCAD, you may also assist with drafting. You will be using your own vehicle for travel to sites and will receive mileage reimbursement. You can expect to go to one-two sites a day.
