  • Description: Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control Production Operations in Grand Prairie, Texas is seeking a new Tool Designer to join our team. The selected candidate will work alongside tooling operations, production, and program engineers to design and develop custom tools and equipment used to manufacture missiles and missile systems.

    Responsibilities include

    -Designing, developing, and implementing industrial machinery and equipment used to manufacture offensive and defensive weapons systems.

    -Designing tooling such as dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, prototype model production and machine attachments required for production or experimental use.

    -Designing tools while considering such factors as safety, accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements.

    -Using 3D CAD software (Creo) to create detailed 3D models and technical drawing packages.

    -Reviewing defective tooling and determining rework solutions.

    -Providing input on manufacturing methods and process improvements.

    Seeking recent graduates who may be available immediately.

    Basic Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline, from an accredited college or university.

    Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

    Proficient in the use of a 3D CAD Software (examples: CREO, SolidWorks, Catia, etc.)

    Interest in exploring tool design career path

    Desired Skills:

    Pro E experience

    Knowledge of tool concept and design.

    Experience with tooling and tool fabrication

    Familiarity with GD&T

    Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

    Clearance Level: Secret

    Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

    Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

    Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
