    The Theatre Department at the University of Southern Maine is seeking applicants for our 2024/2025 academic year Theatre Productions on the Gorham Campus.

    Through a wide-ranging production season, interdisciplinary collaborations, community and school outreach, and interactive theatre experiences, the University of Southern Maine's Department of Theatre contributes to the rich cultural, creative, and artistic life of the greater Portland area and the state of Maine.

    We are looking to fill the following positions:

    • Head Electrician ($750 per semester) - Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 from 9/1/2024 to 4/30/2025
    • Props Artisan/Coordinator ($1,200) - Spring 2025 from 12/1/2024 to 4/30/2025
    • (2) Guest Choreographers ($850) - Short Form Piece Spring 2025 from 1/17/2025 to 4/27/2025
    For our Fall 2024 main stage production of JOHN PROCTOR IS THE VILLAIN & GIANNI SCHICCHI we need the following positions from 9/1/2024 to 11/10/2024:
    • Guest Scenic Designer ($2,400)
    • Guest Lighting Designer ($1,200)
    • Guest Sound Designer ($700)
    For our Spring 2025 main stage production of LITTLE WOMEN we need the following positions from 11/1/2024 to 4/4/2025:
    • Guest Scenic Designer ($1,200)
    • Guest Lighting Designer ($1,200)
    For our Spring 2025 main stage production of THE BIRDS we need the following position from 11/1/2024 to 2/28/2025:
    • Guest Scenic Designer ($1,200)

    Required Qualifications:
    • Demonstrated experience working in theatre and/or performing arts and/or theatre production.
    • Ability to attend rehearsals and production meetings based upon production schedule.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with our faculty and staff, as well as college-aged students in a learning environment.
    • Ability to uphold the positive reputation of the University of Southern Maine
