Position SummaryTextbook AssociateTextbook RentalFull TimePrimary Responsibilities- Assists with the overall operation of the University's Textbook Rental program and the Redhawk Food Pantry daily operations. Serves as the backup department leader in the absence of the Textbook Rental Manager
- Greets visitors, answers multiple telephone lines, and serves as a resource for inquiries
- Assists students with selecting, checking out, and returning textbooks for their courses and inquiries regarding their textbook account
- Assists in the academic course material selection process for each academic department
- Assists with ordering, stocking, distribution, and collection of textbooks for the main campus, regional campuses, high schools, and web orders
- Utilizes multiple textbook management computer programs for ordering, receiving, returning, and shipping textbook inventory
- Performs basic accounting functions including posting sales, preparing and paying invoices, creating purchase orders, and reconciling multiple accounts
- Assists with the annual physical inventory
- Assists with training, supervising work assignments, and entering payroll for student workers, temporary staff, and volunteers
- Works and attends special events which could include nights and weekends
Required Qualifications- High School degree or GED
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
- Demonstrated experience in retail or service-type industry
- Demonstrated ability to safely, frequently, and independently move and handle 50 lbs. and to climb and work from a ladder with or without accommodations
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
- Demonstrated experience in accuracy in recording information with attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle situations with sensitivity, tact, and in a confidential manner
- Demonstrated bookkeeping skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated availability to work nights and weekends at the beginning and conclusion of semesters
