    Job Summary:

    Product Safety, Certification & Validation Team is seeking a Senior Manager-Test Engineering to oversee Pratt & Whitney commercial Geared Turbo Fan (GTF) validation efforts supporting the 30K Thrust Class engine family for development engine initiatives. In this role you will support the 30K Validation Discipline Manager with overall discipline management responsibility for the Connecticut Test Engineering resources. This role will be responsible to ensure program technical and schedule requirements are met with appropriate resource assignments and will work with other discipline managers (Core/Mil) for optimal resource allocations in resource constrained environments. We also desire the successful candidate to have a strong relationship with the Assembly and Analysis disciplines fostering an environment where cross training is promoted as a career accelerator and the value of engine life cycle consciousness is endorsed.

    10% travel may be required.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Plan resource allocations for released/status Engine Development Plans

    • Work with Analysis and Assembly Disciplines for optimal resource plans that include fostering a learning environment where cross training is encouraged.

    • Develop resources towards increased proficiency enabling things like Run Qualification and Lead Engineer responsibilities.

    • Serve as administrative leader of the test engineering team - approving time/expense reports. Holding regular performance connections / 1:1s with resources.

    • Work with Core/Military Test Engineering discipline management on all matters related to resource allocation and for all initiatives associated with the overall advancement of the discipline.

    • Lead CORE sponsored discipline advancement initiatives or Corrective Action Board related workflow.

    • Coach & Mentor developing engineers providing constructive/encouraging feedback utilizing Leadership Operating Model construct.

    • Partner with the program Validation Managers, Planners, & deputies in workflow escalation matters.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's in engineering

    • 10+ years of experience in Engineering or 7+ years' experience with an Advanced degree

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

    • Experience in test engineering discipline including interfacing with Validation Management/SIPT/Organization senior leadership.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working in an engine assembly or test environment with at least 5 years of established leadership responsibility. Must include experience on complex projects and initiatives supported by a matrixed organization.

    • Knowledge of gas turbine engine operation and understanding of performance and operability.

    • Proven experience with excellent organization, communication, and project management skills.

    • Ability to craft clear communication and build meaningful relationships.

    • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

    Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

    Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.

    This position is open to internal applicants only within Pratt & Whitney. To help shore up our military programs, we are looking to reallocate resources to USG direct charging roles and therefore consider this to be an internal to Pratt movement. We may look to open these opportunities upon more broadly once we complete the initial Pratt talent moves.

    The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
