    New England College of Optometry (NECO) Clinical Network is the patient care and clinical education subsidiary of the New England College of Optometry and encompasses a wide network of local, national, and international sites throughout which our students do their clinical training.

    The optical coordinator provides administrative support to the optical department and will work primarily at our Roslindale clinic.

    Essential Functions

    • Greet and assist patients with frame selection, lens measurements, and ordering of optical products
    • Place orders for glasses to contracted manufacturers
    • Tracks and receives inventory, dispenses glasses, maintains invoices, and completes necessary paperwork related to billing; works with the accounting department as needed
    • Collect patients' fees and co-pays, personal and health insurance information
    • Work with the optician to conduct lens blank & frame inventory
    • Order supplies for the optical department
    • Maintain the optical area
    • Assists with edging lenses
    • Assists with year-end inventory of frames
    • Adheres to all internal clinic policies and applicable regulations as indicated by the lead optician at the clinic
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Communicate with patients in person or by phone regarding optical orders

    Hourly Rate: $21/hour

    Education and Experience

    • High School Diploma
    • 2-3 years of healthcare reception and customer service experience
    • Comparable experience in an optical setting or program is preferred
