Job Summary/Purpose
Tech Skills Training Specialist:
This is an entry level training specialist position. The training specialist will work with field personnel to understand and analyze performance needs to determine appropriate training solutions. This position provides skills training such as, learning systems, applications, and other skills as identified by the training manger that will support Entergy personnel improve our skills base. The individual will also solicit and respond to trainee needs. Other job duties include, providing training services such as the development of training courses, teaching courses, communicating with customers to define and prioritize their needs, and developing plans and initiatives to meet customers' needs. Responsible for the administration all phases Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate (ADDIE) in the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process.
Tech Skills Training Specialist Sr
The Training Specialist Sr. delivers technical skills training and instruction to new and senior level Distribution personnel. The training is delivered in a progressive fashion beginning with fundamental skills to the most complex. Critical to this position is not only the ability to communicate effectively, but also to evaluate accurately a participant's confidence and competency. This position weighs heavily when determining the advancement of craft personnel. This specific position will support Distribution Line, utility automation and safety mandated training as well as other training as assigned.
Job Duties/Responsibilities for Tech Skills Training Specialist
Work with customers to determine needs and priorities and develop plans and initiatives to meet customer needs related to skills training for Operations and other business units as requested.
Research and analyze operational, and other technical training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, or consultations with managers, instructors, or customer representatives.
Support the conduct needs and performance analysis to develop the basis for new curriculum development or for updating existing curricula for Entergy personnel.
Develops and edits classroom training materials and provides input into overall training content to provide the most relevant training to meet the training needs.
Solicits and responds to feedback regarding content, delivery, training department processes etc. related to training delivery.
Schedule, deliver, teach and/or facilitate training courses.
Applies evaluation models (such as Kirkpatrick's model of evaluation) to assure highest level of training effectiveness and analyzes existing training delivery to determine the appropriate method for future delivery.
Develop or update training courses and qualification processes for new and existing Entergy personnel.
Applies ADDIE or other development models as required for all course development projects and maintains course history information.
Actively solicits feedback on programs and updates as needed; improves, training initiatives to improve training (learning) effectiveness.
Obtains technical reviews from content owners and ensures the accuracy of revisions to provide customers with the highest quality technical materials.
Work with a minimum of supervision to complete all work on schedule and budget.

Research and analyze, training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, or consultations with managers, instructors, or customer representatives
Identifies training needs, helps develop and update curriculum and design lesson plans, contracts support, and oversees corrective actions and work activities related to Distribution Training.
Oversee, schedule, deliver, teach and/or facilitate training courses, including simulator training on distribution equipment.
Solicits and responds to feedback regarding content, delivery, training department processes etc. related to training delivery. Applies evaluation models (such as Kirkpatrick's model of evaluation) to assure highest level of training effectiveness and analyzes existing training delivery to determine the appropriate method for future delivery.
Ensures compliance with applicable requirements, regulations, procedures, and specifications. Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate (ADDIE) or other development models as required for all course development projects and maintains course history information. Converts traditional classroom-based learning content to other delivery systems, such as mobile or eLearning delivery when appropriate.
Ensures professionalism in the workplace. This includes demonstrating professionalism the way in which you carry yourself, the attitudes you convey, and the ways you communicate with your co-workers, students, and customers.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position
Tech Skills Training Specialist: High school diploma required, or equivalent.
Tech Skills Training Specialist Sr: Technical associate degree or equivalent utility experience (detailed below). Preferred: B.S. Degree or an advanced degree
Minimum experience required of the position.
Tech Skills Training Specialist: 6+ years of power utility or other industry experience with the ability to deliver, produce and develop training course material without a degree, or 3+ years of experience with a degree.
Tech Skills Training Specialist Sr: 8+ years with strong distribution/line operations experience, meet the State Department of Education's requirements for a vocational-technical instructor in the State of registration, or be a subject matter expert, which is an individual, such as a journeyworker, who is recognized within an industry as having expertise in a specific occupation; and have training in teaching techniques and adult learning styles, which may occur before or after the apprenticeship instructor has started to provide the related technical instruction.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position.
Tech Skills Training Specialist
Ability to travel up to 25% to support field locations in Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana.
Candidate to have solid knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Candidate to have working knowledge in Adobe suite products, and similar word processing and desktop publishing tools with experience in content management and/or revision control plus experience with print, web-based, and electronic delivery of documents and the ability to understand, interpret and organize technical manuals and data.
Candidate should have in-depth knowledge of learning management systems.
Tech Skills Training Specialist Sr

Practical knowledge of technical skills to be taught and able to perform technical craft techniques appropriate to the subject matter being delivered.

Ability to travel to support field locations in Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Working knowledge of and/or the ability to learn to work with a LMS and SharePoint
Strong distribution line-based knowledge.
Must be willing to assume a storm restoration role and travel if necessary.
Extensive intersystem travel may be required (up to 50%)
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
Microsoft Office certifications preferred
