    Job Title: AOD Counselor

    Our organization is seeking a dedicated AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) Counselor to join our team. As an AOD Counselor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality groups, trainings, and counseling to young adults between the ages of 16-24.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for young adults struggling with substance abuse and addiction

    • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each client's unique needs

    • Provide education and support to clients' families and loved ones

    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and progress notes

    • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities

    Requirements:

    • Must have experience in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field

    • Current certification or licensure as an AOD counselor (CADC-l or CADC-ll)

    • Experience working with young adults between the ages of 16-24

    • Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities for substance abuse and addiction

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    • Strong organizational and time management skills

    Requirements:

    Qualifications:

    Minimum: Active, unrestricted substance abuse license or certification that meets minimum state licensing or certification requirements to practice in the state where the center is located. CADC-l or CADC-ll

    Preferred: Bachelor's degree in related field. Previous experience with disadvantaged youth, particularly in a residential setting, is highly desirable.

    Knowledge: Broad-based knowledge of counseling techniques. Knowledgeable in alcohol and other drugs of abuse and relapse programs. Ability to design, develop and implement a program related to alcohol and other drugs of abuse and intervention. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Training skills in both individual and group counseling methods. Ability to relate well to young adults. Must possess and maintain valid CPR/First Aid certification. Ability to use center computer programs and Microsoft Office including but not limited to PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
