As a Stamping Tool & Die Operations Team Manager at Ford's Oakville Assembly Complex, you'll do all that and more. We're investing $3 billion to expand the Ford Oakville plant to produce the legendary F-Series Super Duty pickup truck by 2026. This talented and experienced leader will lead a team of Tool and Die professionals to drive a culture of excellence, focus, and collaboration. Ensuring productivity, quality, safety, and cost targets are achieved for all stamping dies on all shifts/crews within the stamping department. Delivering all department scorecard objectives, owning processes and standardization. You will lead continuous improvement opportunities to ensure production volume and quality targets are achieved and serve as a change agent to drive the Ford Production System.
Maximizing die effectiveness to improve productivity and quality.
Develop and lead die preventative maintenance activities.
Champion constraint analysis and coordinate activities to eliminate production bottlenecks.
Promote improved department safety metrics and provide resources.
Address department Health and Safety concerns. Enforce compliance with government, industry, and corporate standards.
Develop and implement a training strategy for all team members.
Lead teams in maintenance of all department dies and related assets.
Coach, counsel, and teach to ensure departmental goals are achieved.
Coordinate resources and activities of the organization to meet the production schedule within budgetary limitations and time constraints.
Lead Ford Production System implementation.
Promote and ensure constant improvement in product quality, plant competitiveness and total cost structure.
Ensures the department complies with government/industry standards.
Facilitate start-up, shutdown, weekends, and shift to shift meetings.
Evaluate and deliver die preventive maintenance measurables.
Implement material control (spare part inventory), die repair, and rebuild programs, and reliability and maintainability reviews.
Review department safety measurables, coordinate improvement activities.
Drive root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions through the established methodology.
Achieve labour and operating budget targets.
Recognize and celebrate accomplishments of the team.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: College diploma or University Degree in Stamping or Tool and Die related field, or Skilled Trades Certificate of Qualification in the Tool & Die profession.
Experience: Five (5) years in Stamping manufacturing.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively engage with all employees in the organization.
In-depth experience in assembly manufacturing processes.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills, including Six Sigma.
Demonstrated ability to work as a team.
Demonstrated ability to lead, empower and develop employees.
Demonstrated conflict management skills.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and organization skills.
Must be able to travel outside of Canada.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience: High-speed Class-A automotive Stamping operations.
Knowledge of constraint management principles.
