    Your Opportunity

    Team leaders are the front-line managers in operational control, responsible for the overall team financial results (top line and bottom line), and for providing opportunities for team members to achieve their career and business objectives.

    Stantec is seeking Team Leaders to manage our Biophysical and Assessment and Permitting teams in Newfoundland and New Brunswick/PEI; and our Aquatic and Marine Sciences Team across Atlantic Canada. Depending on the team, you will report directly to the Senior Team Leader (STL) or the Operating Leader (OL) and work closely with the Business Centre Practice Leaders (BCPLs).

    Your Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate staff utilization, availability, and resourcing within the team, requesting assistance from Leadership as appropriate.

    • Coordinate appropriate level of support for hard back log and BD opportunities with the BCPL and the sector team.

    • Work with your team to address personnel or project issues as they arise.

    • Provide management to direct reports and support the overall team, including recruiting new hires.

    • Lead the YEPR process for individuals on your team and complete pursuant to Stantec policy.

    • Contribute to technical project work as part of the Environmental Services team within your area of expertise (e.g., business development, client management, project/discipline management).

    • Assist the BCOL to achieve key financial targets (e.g., team utilization, WIP/AR management).

    • Assist the BCPL to meet or exceed budgeted net revenue targets for the BC.

    • Assist the BCPL with staff integration between disciplines and regions.

    • Promote Stantec's safety culture and assist the BCPL with training initiatives and the implementation of and compliance with HSSE policy.

    • Required to work from the office minimum 3 days/week.

    Travel to other offices as often as required.

    Qualifications

    Your Capabilities and Credentials

    • Demonstrated ability and desire to work with, and contribute to, a larger team (previous leadership or people management experience, including project-related work, is highly desirable).

    • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

    • Strong problem solving, organization, collaboration, and coordination skills.

    Education and Experience

    • A degree or diploma in a discipline related to Environmental Sciences.

    • Minimum 5 years' experience and proven understanding of the Stantec Project Management Framework, and HSSE and QA/QC processes.

    This posting is available to internal Stantec employees and external candidates, with demonstrated project experience and relevant education in Environmental Sciences.

    Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
