  • Job Summary:

    The K-2 Teacher provides ABA services to students with special education needs, through learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for academic, emotional, and social growth. A successful candidate will demonstrate passion for students to learn, and take an active role in creating engaging and meaningful lessons that allows all students to learn and succeed.

    Job responsibilities:

    Assist children with autism, specific learning disabilities, speech or language impairments and emotional disorders.

    Knowledge of subject specific content and theoretical knowledge of learning theory, including motivation, reinforcement, evaluation, and feedback techniques.

    Develop and implement a data-driven, strategic planning system including course, unit, and lesson plans.

    Develop Individualized Education Program (IEP) for each student and lesson plans that ensure the attainment of state learning standards.

    Provide students and parents with timely data for improvement in student achievement.

    Evaluate student progress and uses formal and informal assessment strategies to determine whether students have achieved high standards and modifies instructional strategies as needed to maximize achievement.

    Understand how students learn and provides learning opportunities that support intellectual, social, and personal development of diverse learners.

    Establish and maintain a safe and secure classroom environment.

    Uses appropriate technology in teaching and learning processes.

    Demonstrate positive classroom results and trends.

    Develop a climate and culture of openness, fairness, mutual respect, support, and inquiry.

    Actively engages in professional development opportunities.

    Perform other related duties as required.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
    • Experience with special needs/ESE K-2

      nd

      students.
    • Working hours 8:00am-4:00pm, Year-around position.
    • Professional demeanor and attitude.
    • Thorough knowledge of customer service and office management.
    • Proficiency in English (oral and written).
    • Solid knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, Google Suite (Gmail, Google Calendar).
    • Excellent communication and people skills.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Problem-solving skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with parents, students, and employees.
    • Leadership ability to manage challenges.
    • Attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and correctly.
