Tax Staff - Corporate

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Staff - Corporate in the non-profit sector, based in Franklin, Tennessee. This position involves dealing with various aspects of federal, state, and local tax laws, preparing and filing corporate and non-profit tax and compliance filings, and handling tax-related issues.

Responsibilities

• Accurate and efficient processing of sales and personal property tax filings for assigned states.

• Active management and updating of business licenses in cities/counties as required.

• Collaboration with the Finance and Engineering Departments to gather necessary data for filings.

• Ensuring the consistency and accuracy of fixed asset information for property tax reporting.

• Resolving discrepancies between asset listings and standard asset schedules by initiating site inventories and explanations from other departments.

• Reviewing lease and acquisition documents to maintain knowledge of each site.

• Establishing accurate reporting jurisdictions by verifying site locations in Accounting and Property Tax Management Systems.

• Proactively researching and resolving arising tax issues and communicating these with the senior tax team.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• No minimum years of experience required, but previous experience in a similar role is advantageous

• Proficiency in Property Tax

• Experience with Tax - Sales & Use

• Knowledge of Fixed Asset Accounting

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
