Tax Preparer

Our client, a trusted provider in the education sector, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join their team. This role will be responsible for assisting clients in preparing and filing their taxes, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, and offering valuable financial insights. Responsibilities

• Prepare tax returns for individuals, families, and small businesses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws.

• Review and analyze financial records to identify deductions, credits, and other tax-saving opportunities.

• Stay current on tax laws and regulations to provide up-to-date advice and support.

• Communicate with clients to gather necessary documentation and explain tax-related matters.

• Assist clients with tax planning and offer strategies to minimize liabilities.

• File tax returns electronically or by paper based on client preferences.

• Respond to client inquiries regarding tax filings, refunds, or audits.

• Maintain client confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive financial data.

• Keep detailed records of tax preparation and filings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).

• Previous experience preparing tax returns, preferably with individual and small business clients.

• Familiarity with tax preparation software (e.g., TurboTax, TaxSlayer, ProSeries, or similar).

• Knowledge of current tax laws and regulations.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Certification (EA, CPA) or preparation-related courses a plus but not required.
