Tax Preparer

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity in high-net-worth wealth management located in Cupertino, California, United States. This role is for a Tax Preparer who will handle a variety of tax-related tasks and utilize their skills to maintain efficiency and accuracy within the department.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual income taxes of a complex nature

• Oversee and manage Schedule A, B, C, E

• Handle Employee Stock Bonus Plan (ESBP)

• Manage Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) taxation

• Oversee and prepare stock options taxation

• Handle S-corp returns

• Prepare 1120 (corp) returns

• Utilize Lacerte software for tax preparation and other related tasks

• Be available year-round, not just during tax season

• Possess at least 5+ years of experience in tax accounting or preparation

Requirements - Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Proven experience as a Tax Preparer

• Strong knowledge of tax law and statutory regulations

• Proficiency in relevant accounting software, preferably QuickBooks

• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple clients

• Strong numerical and analytical skills

• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information

• Detail-oriented to ensure accuracy in preparation of tax returns and forms

• Good communication skills to interact with clients and understand their requirements

• Must have a professional demeanor and be able to work independently

• Certification from a national organization such as the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP) is preferred

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines during peak tax seasons.
