    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Ensure the efficient operation of electro-mechanical systems in all three areas of Blade Manufacturing with emphasis on Blade Finishing equipment.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Assure the proper operation of automated vacuum coating machines (DC Magnetron and MAD). This includes preventive maintenance, diagnosing faults in the electrical, (including high voltage system) and mechanical elements of the system and the ability to repair or recommend corrective action to cure these faults.

    • Assure the proper operation of other automated and mechanical systems in the department including but not limited to aqueous wash, automated splitter systems, automated conveyer systems, automated spray and cure systems and other blade manufacturing equipment. This includes preventative maintenance, diagnosing faults in the electrical and mechanical elements of the system and the ability to repair or recommend corrective action to cure these faults.

    • Must be able to assist in the troubleshooting of PLC units using computer peripheral equipment.

    • Must be able to recognize low voltage wiring faults on department machinery and peripheral equipment.

    • Must have good working knowledge of pneumatic applications in automated machinery and peripheral equipment.

    • Make appropriate recommendations to department engineer regarding spare part inventory, Upgrades or outside services needed and preventative maintenance schedules.

    • Maintain appropriate records of maintenance and process data in a standard format via a PC.

    • Must be available to other shifts as required by department engineer, supervisor or superintendent.

    • Must possess good written and verbal communication skill in order to effectively train others, maintain records and explain technical issues.

    • Other duties of the position include, but are not limited to: Build and maintain relationships with repair specialists. Maintain appropriate records of scheduled maintenance, repairs and process data as required.

    • Independently trouble shoots a variety of Blade Finishing processing equipment including the aqueous wash system. Sputter system, spray and cure equipment, and blade splitting systems.

    • Ensure that support and testing equipment (e.g. MGV, IDT, and X-ray fluorescence) are in proper working order by performing routine maintenance or by arranging for outside technicians to do so.

    • Conducts a variety of standard chemical (e.g. acid acceptance, PH and water content) and physical tests using various laboratory equipment (e.g. PH meter, probes, glassware, titration equipment, plastometer) and reagents.

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

    Working Relationships

    Inside the Company-

    • Routine communications with department supervision to maintain efficiency, productivity, quality, and safety within the area.

    • Communicates with engineering and support groups as necessary.

    Outside the Company-

    • Routine contact with vendors and service groups.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Three years' prior experience in troubleshooting and repairing Electro-Mechanical Equipment.

    • Completions of specialized training in PLC diagnostics.

    • Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

    Salary Range: STLG9 - Starting from $27.91 per hour, based on experience.
