  • Description: This Simulation and Systems Lab (SSL) Manager within Engineering & Technology (E&T) is responsible for hardware and fabrication aspects for the IFG Line of Business (LOB) projects assigned to the lab enterprise.

    • Coordinating employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, recognition/disciplinary actions, and hardware competency development.

    • Performs technical planning, hardware integration, verification and validation, cost account management, schedule/cost/technical risks, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems (analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include:

    • Concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal)

    • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints

    • Ensures the interface with customers, suppliers, application users, and other technical and support personnel

    • Oversees the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of mechanical and electrical systems

    • Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware specification

    • Maintains awareness on emerging technologies and project/program management techniques.

    This engineering manager will contribute to hardware competency development for IFG LOB under the Simulation Integration Laboratory (SIL) Development group. The role of engineering manager will focus on hardware build/fabrication and staffing requirements for IFG LOB Programs.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering (STEM) or Bachelor's degree combined w/technical experience.

    • The candidate should have demonstrated leadership skills and experience.

    • Estimating and/or Earned Value Management (EVMS and/or CAM) training and experience.

    Desired Skills:

    Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership (Shape the Future, Build Effective Relationships, Energize the Team, Deliver Results, Model Personal Excellence, Integrity, and Accountability).

    Working Knowledge of Existing Laboratory Processes and Procedures.

    Full Life Cycle HW Development Process leadership and/or experience.

    JAFAN, RMF/JSIG, or Information Assurance knowledge and experience.

    Simulation and Systems Integration Lab experience. Demonstrated Project or Technical leadership experience.

    Risk Analysis

    Problem Solver/Troubleshooting Skills.

    Hardware Design and Drawing Skills.

    Electrical, Mechanical, & Hydraulic Expertise.

    Experience with Hardware Fabrication.

    Familiarity with Procurement Processes.

    Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

    Clearance Level: Secret

    Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

    Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

    Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
