Join our team as a Systems Engineer where you will work with a cross-functional team to define requirements and scope for upcoming projects. Your role will involve taking customer needs and defining control systems requirements, assisting in analyzing and allocating these requirements with the engineering team, and developing system architecture. You will also plan machine-level system integration and testing procedures, both virtually and physically, and provide technical oversight of cross-functional projects and teams.

Hard Skills

1. Take customer needs and define a control systems requirement

2. Assist in defining, analyzing and allocating of requirements with the cross functional engineering team.

3. Assist in developing system architecture and trade off analysis for design approach

4. Plan machine-level system integration and testing approaches and procedures both virtually and physically.

5. Assist in technical oversite of cross functional projects and teams

Soft Skills

• Ability to interpret product owner inputs

• Project setup for success

Job Type

• Bachelor's degree in engineering field, Master's preferred

• 8+ years of experience in system design experience (software, electronics, hydraulics, system and/or machine controls design)

• -Experience in developing electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical control systems

• Experience in root cause analysis using FMEA, 8d, and 6 sigma

• Exposure to model based system design

• Experience with Matlab/Simulink

• Exposure to Jira

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Pella, Iowa and some days remote.

Work Environment

This role supports multiple locations, mainly at one specific plant. Typical attire includes jeans, polo, and steel toes. The position is hybrid, with flexibility in on-site presence determined by the manager, potentially requiring 2 days on-site with variations as needed. They offer a lot of advanced training for fulltime employees in regards to engineering practices and a mentorship program. The Systems and Software team is looking to grow rapidly, and has done so over the last several years. This means that you will be provided with opportunities to help drive new technologies, as well as opportunities to lead individuals.
