Objectives/Purpose of Job:

The Systems Control Engineer II will provide support to the Tampa facility in a variety of automated projects, systems, and processes in sterile pharmaceutical and consumer products manufacturing and packaging. This position works cross functionally and brings together all areas of the organization from planning / purchasing to manufacturing and quality to ensure that the expectations of the internal customer are met.

Key Activities/Responsibilities:

• Lead improvement projects and support daily operation of process automation systems including aseptic filling and packaging line equipment (cartoners, bundlers, case-packers, palletizers, printers, labeller's, vision systems, robotics).

• Support engineering projects including scope, resource planning, budget activities and project execution timeline.

• Diagnose complex manufacturing technical issues and develop technical solutions to improve process performance, quality, and cost. Engage cross-disciplined resources to support implementation of improvements aligned with site priorities.

• Develop data acquisition and performance metrics to gather and analyze critical data necessary to drive Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and reliability improvements.

• Support development of validation strategies, write and execute validation protocols, and complete associated validation reports. Support process and equipment IQ/OQ/PQ/PV validations.

• Identify innovative technical and process solutions that drive the desired performance in cost, quality, compliance, customer service and revenue.

• Interface with internal customers and external suppliers as required.

• Provide ongoing technical support including training and the creation of required documentation for new manufacturing equipment and processes.

• Provide technical and process support to operations as a Subject Matter Expert to troubleshoot and resolve downtime situations in a timely manner.

Qualifications/Training:

• BS in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant Automation experience preferred.

• Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, or another regulated industry is a plus.

• Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.

• Ideal candidate will possess leadership skills, good written and verbal communication skills, project management skills, good problem-solving skills, experience with process flow, data collection, and root cause analysis, and experience implementing preventive and corrective actions.

• This is a 1st shift exempt position and will require flexible hours when business and project need require them.
