Systems Administrator - OSI PI

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Systems Administrator - OSI PI in Houston, Texas. The chosen candidate will be tasked with overseeing OSI PI services, including PI Vision, PI Data Link, PI Analytics, and Asset Framework. You will be leading business discussions to improve the PI program and meet business needs. This role also involves working with contractors and vendors to develop data inputs and automated interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all OSI PI services including PI Vision, PI Data Link, PI Analytics, and Asset Framework

• Work on the development of Asset Framework modules and hierarchies with a focus on automation and scalability

• Address business problems, devise solutions, and implement them

• Assist the Integrated Production Excellence and Operations Engineering teams during Process troubleshooting by developing necessary screens for required Engineering analysis

• Support Artificial Intelligence / Advanced Analytics development for Integrated Production Excellence and provide technical support to convert data to information and information to insights for real-time optimization

• Manage PI Historian and other infrastructure components to ensure data integrity is secure and accessible at all times

• Document the scope of PI projects, coordinate with vendors, evaluate and select vendors, and monitor vendor performance

• Develop OSI PI Vision screens and institute best practices

• Create calculated tags, alerts, and event frames

• Carry out system integrations of PI tags (to or from systems)

• Develop Corporate PI screens to aggregate Production data at a Corporate level as new plants come online

• Provide detailed insights into strategies for installing, maintaining, organizing, and expanding real-time capabilities

• Troubleshoot and support break-fixes or issues with PI tags displaying the correct values

• Analyze and optimize compression rates for pi tag transfers. Requirements - Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, specifically in the OSI PI domain.

• Demonstrated proficiency in managing and maintaining Gas Plants and Chemical Plants.

• Solid understanding of OSI PI system architecture and infrastructure.

• Ability to troubleshoot system issues and effectively solve problems.

• Proficient in system security and data backup/recovery.

• Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management.

• Knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues.

• Ability to respond quickly to network outages.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.

• Relevant certification such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or similar would be advantageous.

• Willingness to work in shifts, if necessary, to ensure round-the-clock system functionality.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
