Your Opportunity
We provide our clients a full range of surveying and mapping services. Through our work, we define land boundaries and analyze spatial data.
As a Survey Crew Chief, you will work with close guidance and supervision on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a Senior Surveyor. You will perform surveying, mapping and data collection activities.
Your Key Responsibilities
Uses basic knowledge of the general concepts of field survey work.
Collects data relevant to the shape, contour, location, elevation and dimension of land or land features.
Assist in transfer survey data to the proper files in the computer network.
Assists survey crew in operating and maintaining survey instruments and measuring devices including levels, robotic total stations, GPS equipment and data collectors.
Performs basic tasks including holding level rod, prism pole or tape at designated points, laying out stakes, and clearing brush and trees from line of survey with machete, brush hook or chainsaw.
Maintains equipment and survey vehicle; cleans and organizes vehicle.
Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of tools and equipment.
Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Basic knowledge of surveying.
Requires ability to work well in a team environment
Good written and verbal communication skills
Requires basic math skills.
Education and Experience
Associate's degree or technical diploma/certificate in a related program .
3 years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Position will primarily be field work and may require travel.
