Minnesota Housing is hiring! We're a mission-focused financial and grant-making institution looking for a Supportive Housing Team Supervisor. This position will provide supervisory and program support to staff on the Supportive Housing Team under the Housing Stability Division. Additionally, this position will also help advance the agency's 2024-2027 Strategic Plan (~~~) , the Crossroads to Justice Plan (~~~) and other strategic and equity related goals.
Essential Job Duties
Provide day-to-day supervision of the staff who help create and maintain supportive housing opportunities across Minnesota
Oversee and coordinate the development, administration, implementation, and evaluation of supportive housing policies, resources, and programming.
Develop and recommend supportive housing policies that expand and strengthen supportive housing; this will be achieved by working cross divisionally with other teams such as the Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP) and Consolidated Request for Proposal (RFP) teams.
Provide ongoing assistance to the Housing Stability Team Manager.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Four (4) years' experience in funding or operating (property management or support services) supportive housing.A Bachelor's degree in community planning, social work, affordable housing, public policy, sociology, psychology,math, economics, finance, political science, public administration, nonprofit management, or urban studies may substitute for 12 months of experience - or - a Master's degree in the listed fields may substitute for 18 months of experience.
Demonstrated leadership experience, including at least one of the below:
Experience as a manager, supervisor, or team lead.
Completion of a State leadership development program, such as Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI) or Senior Leadership Institute (SLI)
Completion of a similar or equivalent leadership development program through another organization
A paid or unpaid position leading a project or program or chairing a committee, such as an Employee Resource Group (ERG). This experience must include:
1+ years of identifying issues, goals, and strategic actions and 100+ hours per year time commitment (Resume must clearly document how experience meets these requirements).
Knowledge of the supportive housing industry best practices, operating and service elements and funding resources.
Demonstrated experience in recognizing and resolving conflicts and dealing with difficult people sufficient to provide a positive work environment, diffuse and retain control of volatile situations, and resolve problems.
Cultural competency as demonstrated by skills for communication and interaction across cultures and awareness of one's own world view and that different world views exist.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of supportive housing capital resources and financing structures.
Knowledge of state and federal service funding resources and policies including Medicaid billable services and Housing Support
Strong communications skills, including preparing letters, memos, reports, budgets, and technical papers sufficient to relate ideas in a concise, logical, readable, and appropriate manner.
Sufficient knowledge to design, implement, and evaluate public programs and results.
