    The Human Resources Support Technician provides administrative support to Department of Human Services/Direct Care and Treatment managers, supervisors and employees. This includes providing support and assistance to staff and customers on personnel issues, general administrative support to HR staff, and scanning/validating of personnel documents into the Electronic Document Management system.

    Principal responsibilities/major tasks include:

    • Effectively assist, inform, advise and consult with employees, supervisors, and/or managers on personnel related policies, procedures and practices as well as collective bargaining agreements and plans

    • Perform administrative duties to maintain efficient operation of the HR unit

    • Function as the Human Resources representative for new employee orientation (NEO), ensuring pre-employment and first day compliance requirements are met and conducting necessary follow-up with supervisors and/or transactions staff.

    • Create, manipulate, and run reports from a variety of software systems and applications as needed or requested

    Minimum Qualifications

    1 year of experience performing administrative or clerical duties in a human resource setting that demonstrates the following:

    • Experience working with a Human Resources, benefits, or similar type of transactional processing database.

    • Performing a variety of administrative program support functions that includes application and interpretation of statute, policies and procedures, and/or rules and regulations.

    • Working knowledge of the AFSCME, MAPE, MMA and MNA collective bargaining agreements; Commissioners and Managerial Plans; and rules and laws (i.e. FMLA, Affirmative Action and Data Practices) that affect Human Resources.

    • Working knowledge of SEMA4.

    • BA degree or higher in Human Resources or Organizational Management or related field.
