General Summary:

As a Support Engineer at Qualcomm, you will significantly contribute to our product improvement and work with other Engineers to sustain aspects of our product development life cycle. Support Engineers will also play a critical role in resolving technical system issues that promote product reliability. You will have endless opportunities to learn and grow in the Engineering development space.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Associate's degree and 5+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.

OR

High School Diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.

*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master's = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.

• Certification in Electronics or related area.

• Military experience or training in electronics field (Rank E6+ 2 years).

• 6+ years of experience with digital HW, SW, and/or analog RF troubleshooting and debugging.

• 6+ years of experience in a lab environment.

• 3+ years in a leadership role with or without direct reports.

• 3+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Sr Director level and above).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leads efforts and/or guides a team in complex or cross-functional support activities such as system integration and providing development support from initial concept through completion phases of project.

• Contributes to and implements designs in collaboration with engineers, based on high level requirements. Participates and provides feedback in design reviews.

• Manages and operates company products and/or components based on specifications, tolerances and reliability. Monitors product performance, analyzes critical failures or malfunctions, and develops corrective action.

• Facilitates the collection, integration, and interpretation of data and information from multiple sources and stakeholders across teams to understand ambiguous specifications and develop solutions to challenging problems.

• Manages and/or executes on components of team project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables for large and/or multiple projects.

• Works with engineers and others cross-functionally to develop, integrate, and/or execute large initiatives.

Level of Responsibility:

• Works independently with no supervision.

• Provides supervision/guidance to other team members.

• Decision-making is significant in nature and affects work beyond immediate work group.

• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information. May require negotiation, influence, tact, etc.

• Works within the prescribed budgetary objectives of the department.

• Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leaderships to make key decisions).

• Tasks often require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; extensive planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.

Pay range:

$47.02 - $70.54

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
