  • Overview

    Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm.

    Assumes responsibility for the day to day operations and management of the Mail Center.

    Responsibilities

    • Implements and monitors policies, procedures, programs, and systems to achieve efficiencies and levels of service.

    • Monitors expenditures for postage/shipping and submits monthly billing. Maintains documentation files. Oversees service window activity, as well as ongoing cash/stamp transactions.

    • Serves as agent with private delivery services in negotiating rate tariffs/services. Informs and ensures compliance with the DOT regulation for preparation of hazardous goods tendered to common carriers throughout the Mail Center.

    • Trains all new Mail Center employees in government regulations and mail handling techniques, ensuring proper procedures are both understood and followed. Counsels staff and apprises the Director of employee performance.

    • Prepares the weekly staff schedule. Approves absences and provides for coverage of same. Monitors and controls Mail Center work flow to achieve maximum utilization and effectiveness.

    • Manages Mail Center employees and recommends and initiates personnel actions.

    • Maintains site security, ensuring the confidentiality of patient medical information and safeguarding the privacy of mail and correspondence handled.

    • Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Associate's degree with 2 years of combined postal and leadership experience, or the equivalent in education and experience required.
