    Position Title: Supervisor, Load Forecasting & Reporting

    OPEN UNTIL FILLED

    Position Purpose:

    Manages the technical development, member coordination, and execution of intermediate and long-term load forecasts for the cooperative and its members. Intermediate and long-term load forecasts represent the foundation for power supply planning, financial planning, transmission planning, and rate analysis. Manage the processes and execution for load reporting.

    Essential Duties:

    • Manages the development and coordination of intermediate and long-term load forecasts with and to assist management with planning for future generation, transmission needs, determining rates, and for financial planning. This will include but is not limited to:

    • Member Class C Load Forecasts

    • Member Class A Load Forecasts

    • Basin Electric Load Forecasts

    • Diversity and Delivery Point Studies

    • Fixed Member Load Forecasts

    • MISO / SPP Resource Adequacy Forecasts

    • Coincident Peak Forecasts

    • Transmission Loss Forecasts

    • Planning Reserve Margin Forecasts

    • IRP Load Scenario Forecasts

    • Manages the process documentation governing intermediate and long-term load forecasting processes and methods.

    • Ensures the technical competency of the staff performing statistical and econometric modeling and calculations. This includes creating training plans, prescribing continuing education, and mentoring.

    • Represent the cooperative in RTO Load Forecast stakeholder groups, and/or supports our representatives interfacing with Load Forecasts.

    • Manage the evaluation of intermediate and long-term load forecasts to assess forecast performance. Develop methodologies for improving forecasting techniques for future load forecasts.

    • Manage the development and execution of End-Use Surveys as required by the Rural Utilities Service (RUS).

    • Coordinate with other distribution and Generation & Transmission (G&T) member cooperatives, other industry and government organizations, and Regional Transmission Organizations (RTO), relating to load forecasting.

    • Manage the processes and execution for load reporting for various compliance requirements, member use and other internal stakeholder uses.

    Qualifications :

    • A bachelor's degree in mathematics, business, economics, or an Engineering Accreditation Commission/Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (EAC/ABET) accredited engineering degree; and

    • Seven years of related load forecasting or other technical utility related experience.

    • Knowledge and experience with econometric methods and computer software with a strong mathematical background.

    • Good written and verbal communication skills

    • Experience providing technical oversight, guidance, and developing quality controls.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands:

It also requires finger dexterity and hand coordination. This position requires good hearing and vision, and the ability to speak. It also requires the ability to develop plans, procedures and goals; present information to others; and work under stress to complete projects within deadlines.
