    Old Dominion Freight Line is currently looking for a Transportation & Equipment Supervisor. The Supervisor will manage, assign and coordinate the movement of all new and sale equipment. Negotiate contracts and rates for purchased transportation and manage the assignment/movement of purchased transportation from origin to destination.

    Responsibilities

    • Handle requests for new equipment by the regions including negotiating the contract rate for the purchased transportation

    • Execute purchase contracts with vendors for purchased transportation (rail and truckload)

    • Coordinate the movement of all new equipment from the manufacturer to ODFL locations in a manner that is cost-effective with minimal disruption to business operations

    • Manage the movement of all equipment to be sold from OD locations to predetermined sale points

    • Coordinate placement/removal of insurance on the equipment with the liability department

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required

    • 2 years in the transportation sector working with the acquisition and disposal of equipment

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software

    • Ability to work independently with multiple projects

    • Strong attention to detail

    • Demonstrated ability to read, understand and negotiate purchase agreements/contracts

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Preferred

    • Bachelor's degree

    • SAP experience
