Refinery Superintendent - Mankato, MN
The Refinery Superintendent is responsible leading the operations for refining, bleaching, deodorizing, Hydrogenation and I-soy and oil loading/unloading including continually improving safety, quality, efficiency, cost, and asset performance. The site is a soybean crushing facility which includes a refinery for bleaching and deodorizing oil-Hydrogenation and I-soy. The refinery processes 2 types of soybean oil -general commercial and hi-oleic. The Refinery Superintendent is a key member of the Site Leadership Team.
Act as a role model for evolving safety, and drive strong safety, process safety, and food safety performance.
Ensure adherence to ADM standards and regulatory requirements refinery operations.
Responsible for meeting operational requirements in refining, bleaching, deodorizing, boilers, wastewater treatment, and oil loading.
Continuously improve safety and environmental performance, food safety/quality, cost, efficiency, and asset effectiveness through Performance Excellence, Readiness, and collaboration with site personnel and the Centers of Excellence.
Develop a high performance team through employee engagement, coaching, mentor and develop team members, and driving accountability and ownership.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, systems audits, key performance indicators, and training standards.
Lead complaint investigations and complete SQF Audit and sanitation items throughout the refinery.
Assist in the identification, development, and execution of capital projects.
Drive continuous improvement throughout the complex through use of performance excellence methodologies
Work with the facility leader to instill a continuous improvement mindset in all colleagues
Lead establishment of standard training and developing succession with ultimate goal of having self-driven team
Champion establishing a standard Tier 2 and Tier 1 meetings for the Refinery team
Champion establishing and standardizing training program and employee retention
Job Requirements:
Strong leadership ability
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
Strong communicator with the ability to communicate at all levels within an organization
Demonstrated high degree of results-oriented action
Ability to influence others and motivate change
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering is highly preferred.
Minimum 10 years of supervisory leadership experience
Refinery operations experience preferred
Familiarity with ADM Performance Excellence is highly preferred
Demonstrated leadership experience.
