    About this opportunity:

    The IT Security & Compliance Intern will enjoy a stimulating and challenging work environment with opportunities to develop skills, while working in a highly motivated team. This position is ideal for students that are currently enrolled in a Computer Science or Computer Engineering program and have completed their 3rd year. We are looking for a self-motivated, flexible team player who is open to learning.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

    • Basic knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle

    • Basic knowledge of the IT industry

    • Familiarity with Project Management techniques

    • Knowledge of IT Security and cyber-security

    • Some knowledge of IT processes, tools, programs

    • Some degree of experience with programming

    • Flexible team player with an eagerness to learn

    Activities:

    • Involvement with design/development of IT processes and controls as well as Information Security practices

    • Assist in the gathering of requirements for IT application projects - includes collecting and analyzing existing documentation, reviewing with Subject Matter Experts & writing specification documents

    • Perform routine management/reporting tasks as they relate to the portfolio of applications under our control

    • Participate in IT application projects and monitor activities of IT projects related to IT applications

    Physical Demands, duties of this position are varied and will include:

    • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment

    • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data

    • Repetitive manual movements (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required

    Education: Currently enrolled in a University Internship program completing 3rd year of a 4-year or 4th year of a 5-year Computer Science or Business Technology Management program
