    Job Description

    AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Structural Technician for immediate employment for the Kitchener, Ontario office. Opportunities for hybrid work are available.

    Major Responsibilities:

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

    • Conduct structural drafting/3D BIM in concrete, steel, masonry, and wood buildings. Field inspection and construction administration

    • Daily monitoring of the construction work to ensure the design/contract conformities as required

    • Conduct structural analysis of buildings and structures with little guidance

    • Monitor and track construction progress and conformity with AECOM design and contract conformance

    • Attend construction progress meetings and assist the Project Manager/Engineer with meeting minutes and distributions

    • Administer the contract documents; provide site instruction, and directives

    • Assist the Project Manager/Engineer with contract claims/resolutions

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • College diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering Technology or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil/ Structural Engineering is an an asset.

    • Experience in Structural design and drafting experience of bridge, high-rise buildings, industrial/commercial structures, and transit/municipal infrastructures.

    • Able to develop and advance drawings from conceptual to detailed design stage

    • Proficient in 3D Revit/ BIM modeling and drafting

    • Familiar with software such as: AutoCAD 2020 or later, AutoDesk Revit Family/BIM Software and Microstation V.8 or later

    • Good written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency essential)

    • Ability to recognize and adhere to established deadlines and schedules is a must

    • Ability to fit into a fast-paced team environment and/or work independently

    • Strong background in civil, bridge, and structural design and constructions

    • Self-motivated, detail oriented and multi-tasking

    Additional Information

    • Relocation is not available for this position.

    • Sponsorship is not available for this position.

    Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $45,000.00 - $75,000.00.
