Structural Imaging Echocardiographer - Assistant Professor

Department Overview:

The Knight Cardiovascular Institute (KCVI) is recognized as a top integrated center for cardiovascular clinical care, translational research and professional training in all aspects of heart and vascular disease. Guided by a multi-disciplinary approach, researchers and clinicians drive a vibrant translational research program, which focuses on delivering the latest knowledge and cutting edge care to patients. Specifically, research at KCVI seeks to improve patient outcomes by achieving earlier diagnosis of disease, more accurate monitoring of its progression, and tailoring therapy to the molecular basis of disease.

Function/Duties of Position:

This position serves as a Structural Imaging Echocardiographer that works in the section of Interventional Cardiology. 

Clinical

Duties include structural imaging for tricuspid valve, mitral valve, aortic valve procedures, as well as atrial appendage, PFO, and para-valvular leak closure procedures. Duties include outpatient valvular heart disease clinic, general inpatient cardiology, and general cardiology consults. 

Education

OHSU is a teaching institution and as a faculty member, you are expected to provide mentorship and direction to students, residents, fellows and staff. 

Research

There may be options for you to explore research opportunities in your area of focus. Administrative support is available for grant submission, financial management and clinical trials support. Please share your research interests during the interview process.

Administration

Administrative duties may be assigned to you in support of Institute or section initiatives, faculty development and/or other activities as determined necessary.

Required Qualifications:

• Licensed MD/DO

• Active DEA Certification

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology or related specialty

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience practicing in an academic health facility is preferred
