    General Statement

    This is not an all-encompassing description of required duties. Other duties may be assigned, on an as-needed basis. The Stormwater Drainage Crew Leader will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining all drainage ways in the City of Kyle. Candidate must be able to effectively communicate and have good working relations with all supervisors, fellow co-workers and citizens. Candidate must live within 45 minutes traveling time and may be called in after hours for emergencies.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities
    • Will supervise staff of 5-10 employees.
    • Must be able to evaluate staff progress, assist with yearly evaluations of staff and provide disciplinary action if necessary.
    • Must have good working knowledge of budget guide lines and ability to stay within as possible.
    • Oversee and maintain all drainage ways and associated areas
    • Included but not limited to; brush/debris haul off, slope/embankment rebuilding, silt fence installation, re-seeding or sodding, curlex, mulch tubes and various items of this nature.
    • Must be able to operate various pieces of equipment such as skid steer, backhoe, gradeall, hydromulcher etc.
    • Must be able to work and operate on slopes/embankments.
    • Must be able to shoot elevations to identify grade changes.
    • Must be able to read and determine plan sheets/blue prints.
    • Should have good working knowledge of concrete, both installation and demolition.
    • Must be able to communicate and work effectively with various land owners.
    • Will operate a City vehicle/equipment and is responsible for the appearance, maintenance, organization, tool inventory and safe operation of all City vehicles and equipment.
    Qualifications, Experience, and/or Certifications Required

    High School diploma or G.E.D.

    Two years minimum experience in leveling, grading, taking elevations and working slopes/embankments.

    Reliable transportation.

    Possess a valid and current Class C Driver's License with ability to obtain C.D.L. Class B or A if needed.

    Must be able to lift 80lbs unassisted.

    Ability to work, stand, sit or walk over smooth to rough terrain, including slopes and embankments.

    Must be able to work in various weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
