    Title: Staff Attorney

    Division & Department: Corporate Legal Services

    Status: Full-Time Exempt

    Reports to: Director, Legal Services

    Location: Remote - Anywhere in the contiguous US

    Job Summary

    Franklin Covey's Legal Department is looking for a full-time attorney who has experience in (a) drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and follow through to contract execution; and (b) general corporate experience, which may include intellectual property, data privacy, education, software / cloud-based products, licensing, securities, or other business matters.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Experience with reviewing and negotiating contracts such as Master Services Agreements, License Agreements, Vendor Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, and Amendments.

    • Knowledge of standard contract clauses (e.g. copyright, indemnification, insurance).

    • Experience with management of a high volume caseload or deal flow.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Strong work ethic and willingness to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

    Basic Qualifications

    • A Juris Doctorate

    • 2+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house counsel setting.

    • Active bar license.

    Preferred Skills & Experience

    • Proficient with Microsoft tools.

    • Analytical, highly organized, and uses sound judgement.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Detail-oriented and demonstrates accuracy and consistency.

    Compensation:

    California - Anticipated compensation for this position is $105-120k. Actual offer may be outside of this prediction and will be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data.
