  • Position Summary

    The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciling general ledgers, and other related accounting functions.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Record, code, and process all cash receipts in ERP system and maintain filing of Accounts Receivable.
    2. Record, code, and process all invoices for payment in ERP system and maintain filing of Accounts Payable.
    3. Reconcile invoices on the cloud-based software for paying bills and expenses. Issue manual checks or ACH/WIRE/EFT payments for corresponding payable transactions.
    4. Perform timely G/L account reconciliation for various accounts by verifying entries and comparing to balances.
    5. Daily cash applications for Accounts Receivable and filing.
    6. Generate Accounts Receivable Aging Report.
    7. Assist in month-end closing procedures.
    8. Maintain freight costs log and other related spreadsheets.
    9. Assist with annual audits by preparing schedules, documentation, etc.
    10. Provide backup support for Accounts Receivable and assist with cross training activities.
    11. Provide backup support for inventory transactions (receipts and adjustments) as well as recording credit memos.
    12. Assist with the preparation and development of key financial reports to be reviewed by management.
    13. Maintains confidentiality of all information learned through the normal handling of sensitive information.
    14. Assist in tax and other regulatory matters
    15. All other duties as assigned by management to ensure the success of Futaba.

    Experience and Educational Requirements

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university preferred.
    2. 3 years related accounting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Ability Requirements

    1. Strong written communication skills: Ability to read and write short correspondence, memos and simple instructions.
    2. Strong verbal communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
    3. Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
    4. Intermediate MS Office skills in
    5. Word and Outlook are required.
    6. Intermediate math skills with ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    7. Ability to work well in a team environment.

    Compensation details: 24-30 Hourly Wage
