    Staff Accountant Job Summary:

    Vitis Energy is seeking a Staff Accountant to provide a dynamic and hands-on experience, within a multi-company environment. This role offers substantial opportunities for professional growth and development. The candidate is expected to have a solid foundation in preparing and reviewing monthly reports, executing month-end closing procedures, and performing account reconciliations across multiple entities. This role also encompasses supporting a broad spectrum of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, journal entries, reconciliations, and various administrative tasks as necessary.

    Staff Accountant Duties/Responsibilities(including, but not limited to)

    • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions.
    • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
    • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures.
    • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties.
    • Review coding of all A/P and A/R entries for reconciliation and month-end billing.
    • Ownership of the AP process, delegating AP support tasks as necessary.
    • Forensic accounting and reconciliations, as necessary.
    • Provides support for complex loan deals to senior leadership.

    Requirements:

    Staff Accountant Required Skills/Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
    • Extensive knowledge of accounting functions including preparation, balancing, and internal controls.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to frequently lift or move items up to 10 pounds.
    • Must be able to occasionally lift or move items up to 25 pounds.

    Travel: As required; potential for overnights is < 10%
